Surrealism |
For my surrealism project I used the theme "going back to memories". The memory I used is form this past summer when I was in Sydney. The photos in the surrealism project that I took are the Sydney Opera House and my hand pressing against the photo. I used photos from online to complete the illusion. When you touch the surface of the picture it ripples, as water would, so you could step back into the photo. For my scanned image I used lyrics and placed them on one of the “wings” of the opera house. The lyrics suggest that each memory is only a daydream away from you.
I think that this photograph is very successful. I like the concept of the picture, the idea is very clever. I think that it was a unique approach on the project. I like how the picture frame is placed on the wall, the angle that the photograph is on makes it look more realistic. The prospective of this picture is what I think that I like most. I almost want to believe that if the hand kept pushing you would be able to walk right into the painting. The ripples that around the finger as well as adding shadows really made this photograph look real. You can tell that a lot of effort was put into this photograph and the outcome of it is very successful.
